Thanks for the suggestions. I like the Checkertails That is a cool scheme. Well I am hoping to get all my crashing out with my trainer.

The Tuskegee schemes are pretty cool as well-- the 99th FS had red tails and spinners- with blue and white checkerboards on the cowling- and blue trim tabs.... but I must agree with trupr- the yellow/black checkertails are pretty sweet looking...

How about a 325th Checker Tail clan version? They looked pretty sweet with the tail and wingtips done up in black and yellow checkers with the aluminum body and wings. Another favorite Mustang group is the 352nd "Blue-Nosed Bastards of Bodney "

A couple links for ya.....

Good luck with the build! Don't crash it!

1/5 Scale P-51D

I know this may not be the totally right place but I just bought a 1/5 scale P-51d that is radio control. I wanted something a little different as far as paint schemes. I see alot of Big Beautiful Doll Stangs and I wanted something that is different. But I want American WWII squadron markings. I have a long time before i get to the paint stage as it is a kit plane balsa and plywood, but any help in finding pics would be much appreciated.
