Since getting back into modelling, I found an F-111A, partially built and sitting since my 11th birtday over 10 years ago. Has anyone built this one or any other AMT/Ertl kit from that time and how was it?
I thought it was an okay kit, except that it needed holes cut into the fuselage to fit some antennae and ECMs, the nose cone halves were a little ill-fitting, some panels were a little hard to fit, and the plastic was a bit hard for puttying and sanding. It seemed to turn out well and is awaiting test mule status for airbrushing camo.
I found a Desert Storm commemorative F-16A while helping my aunt move, and just started building it. I think it may be better than the F-111 qualtiy wise, but so far it had an annoying need to paint the inside of the intake before gluing and sanding.
Does anyone have any input or experience on these kits? Thanks for your time.
