Arresting hook stripes
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, February 14, 2003 7:56 PM
I know this may be a laugher for experienced modelers, but are there any tricks for painting stripes on 1/72 scale hooks or is it just maskit and paint? Thanks...JohnEight Ball [8]

I have found the best way is to cut some strips out of black or red decals. Find the color decal that you need and then use a straight edge and a new #11 blade. Cut one strip so it will be the same dia. from top to bottom. Then cut into small sections and apply to the tail hook. It sure beats trying to paint the stripes on the tailhook. You can use the same procedure for pitot tubes that have stripes on them.
