DH2 Rigging
Posted by lpolpo22 on Saturday, February 15, 2003 8:40 AM
Hi, new guy here. I,m just getting back into scale modeling after 10 years of just sitting around.
I continued to accumulate models during this time with the intention of building them one day. After dusting off my workbench I found the last model I had been working on, a 1/72 Revell DH2, then I remembered why I put it down. I can not find a decent diagram of the control line rigging. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Did it pass through the upper wing to the tail? Thanks for any help you can give.

Here's a site that has a huge amount of pictures of WWI planes. perhaps you'll find a pic that'll be a good reference. http://members.shaw.ca/flyingaces/archive1.htm

Thank you for your quick response, unfortunately the photos are not clear enough to provide the information I need. I'm beginning to thing the control line ran through pulleys attached to the wing strut. Is there anyone who can confirm this? I'd really like to finish this thig and go on to the other 150 kits under my workbench. I really appreciate all the tips I've gotten from the group, especially on the subject of Future Floor Polish. Keep up the good workSmile [:)]

If you can find them, Windsock has a number of reference monographs which might help.

i have a smer 1.48 DH2 kit sitting around for the same reason.good pics and/or diagrams of ww1planes would sell by the shedload.my recently completed Fokker eiv took about two weeks to actually build, but also a month researching the plan of the rigging.its always seemed to me that photos can be pretty useless as the perspective of a wire is hard to work out i.e. is that two wires next to each other,or spaced apart?i,d love to see a book of line drawings, perhaps colour coded,of ww1planes.any ways good luck with this, and maybe i,ll pluck up courage to start mine with help from this forum.

i,ve got the answer!!!!!!!if you can get hold of an instruction sheet from the edouard profipak dh2 kit it has the wires clearly set out in coulor coded sections,if not this is what they show, the wires go up to the first (inboard)strut but dont go through the wing atthe top of the strut is a pulley(facing inboard)it goes from this to the tail.hope this helpsBig Smile [:D]
