roadkill has a good Idea. And what a way to honor the maintainence folks that keep these birds armed and ready to smash the enemy! My dad was in SAC and worked on b-36's and b-52's, for the most part. He was a jet engine mech. primairily.

I have seen S-3s' at Alameda NAS in California undergoing maintenance with all the doors open. Go ahead and do it and if any one says anything, tell'em it's undergoing maintenance. I tried this with AMTs' 1/72 F-14 and I removed so many panels it fell apart!!!

F14Fan, I'm about to do a similar project, though with the Italeri 1/48th S-3. Good luck with yours. Is it 72 or 48th? Any aftermarket products? I'm waiting for an order I placed.. I'll be using a Black Box cockpit, Eduard P/E parts, Paragon wingfolds, and Aeroclub landing gear.

Mine's a 1/72 one, and i'm still on "the dig" for detailing parts....
If you found any, let me know...

Thanks!!!

The bay would be open for loading, so a dio would be realistic. Bob

I've managed to get my hands on an Airfix S-3A Viking, and it really looks real great (althought it has the panel lines raised....)

My dilema is that now i want to show the interior of the torpedo bay, but with the landing gear down... Would it be "realistic" or no???

Is that i plan to build a small diorama around it....

If anyone could give me some ideias, i would appreciate!!!

Thanks!!!
