AIM 9 Decals
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, October 19, 2003 12:35 AM
This is out to any weapons handlers out there. I'm doing a 1/32 F4 and the Aim 9J's have decals which basicly say "Dont Drop On Foot" or other military words to that effect. There is only 1 per missile. I think they should go opisate the rail conectors which would mean the right side would read normal and the left would read upside down.
I've gone through pages on the internet but cant find any pics that show it clearly.
Any thoughts or am I just too picky.
I'm not after a perfect product but this is bugging me now that I've thought about it.
Thanks... Need More Rye.....

You are correct. With the war head to your left, exhaust to your right, it would read correct. Put the missile on the right side of the aircraft, with the war head to your right, would read up side down. All data is for left hand viewing.

Berny is right, I used to build those things for real and when we painted them we put the motors on a rolling cart. Paint one side, roll it 180 and paint the other side. Always made one side read upside down.
