Sword T38 gear
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, October 19, 2003 4:19 PM
just bought the sword t38 and was looking at the gear. looks like they are squared off instead of round. is this correct or should i just scratch build new ones?
Thanks for any help on this.

Hey rhino,
Yupper the Talons gear has more of a squared off look. Did ya notice the lack of detail?
I myself bought the Swords T-38 a few months back. I matched up the gear to the old monogram F-5s gear and I feel that the F-5s are nicely done and are better in detail. Monograms landing gear may not be exact to how the gear should look but I am thinking of using them. When placed side by side, they both are the same height and about the same thickness. The Monograms may be a lil more meaty. Make sense?
Overall kit is great except for what has been mentioned above and for the price you'd think that this simple yet important detail would not have been over lookedSad [:(]Tongue [:P]
Any who I'm not planning on building her yet, so in the meantime maybe an after market mfg will do a gear setWink [;)]
Flaps up, Mike

If you would listen to everybody about the inaccuracies, most of the kits on your shelf would not have been built Too Close For Guns, Switching To Finger

Hey guys! I've been looking at this kit at my LHS. There is only one on the shelf but the price has made my hand a little shakey when I reach for it. What do you think of the kit quality so far? Recessed or raised panel lines? Cockpit detail? etc. Thanks!
