SCARY GLAZING
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, October 23, 2003 10:59 AM
Bought a Academy Storch.....It is eazy to ready advice on glue suitable for clear but this scared me....The glazing plays a pivotal role in supporting the wing structure....Should I proceed with white glue (ELMER;S)...(ATLACOL...we call it in greece..maybe it rings a bell to you....). A was discouraged if not scorn for Clearfix and Plastic Weld.....weak the latter foggy the former....(or other way round i mean english speak wise....i know that liquid glue will fog things...lol

thyamis, Hi , Testors makes a clear parts liquid cement that I've been using and having very good luck with. I've even been able to fill small gaps with it. Hope this helps some. Bob

I apologize for not knowing anything about the Testors liquid clear cement, but I have to say that I am still using the old standard, Elmer's white glue. I really haven't found anything better. Microscale's (Is it still made by them?) Krystal Kleer (sp?) is also terrific.

When recently making a model of the OH-58 helicopter, I temporarily attached the front windscreen with our old favorite, Future. It worked so well that I used it to permanently attach it later. No fogging problems; bonds well. Is there anything this stuff won't do? Check Future out here in Browse By Subject. Note it is available in nations outside the USA under different names.

Maybe that watch crystal glue that Micro Mark sells would do the trick.Question [?]
