It's accually a Mk"2" from the Battle of Britain. Not a bad kit, but not up to today standards. You do need putty, and the decals are a little tricky( use Micro-Sol to soften them up.) And the canopy doesn't fit. I displayed mine open.

I just completed the Revell Spitfire, but I did the MK.I version. I agree with the above post. I also had difficulty with the wing/fuselage fitting and it actually resulted in a small gap. Definately do some dry fit runs before gluing. Decals were very tricky and very delicate and a good decal solution will be required. All in all, its a decent Spitfire model. I would also recommend the open canopy as well as the canopy would not line up closed. Check out the below review of the one I did:

Forget the Revell-Monogram kit. Go with the really excellent Tamiya kit. It's worth the extra cost.

I already have the Mk Vb Tamiya kit . Yeah, it's excellent but i found someone who can sell me the monogram kit for just under 5 bucks so I think that would be a good deal already.

If the Revell/Monogram Mk. l/ll kit has not bee revised since it's original release, it has one very glaring ( in my opinion anyway ) error. The trailing edge of the wing root fairing swept up to the fuselage in an inverted gull effect. The Revell/Monogram kit does not have this feature. The Otaki/Arii/Airfix Mk. Vlll kit suffers from the same problem. All of the newer 1/48th Spit kits - even going back to the Airfix Mk. V - have the inverted gull wingroots. I have not looked at the Revell/Monogram kit in some time, so if they have revamped it, my apologies to them !
