I've got the same kit in my collection. Just waiting to be built. The p-40c by the same maker looks good so far. Good fit and detail. Hopefully the Corsair is the same quality.

The Academy Corsair is a re-release of the Hobbycraft kit. The cockpit wasn't really accurate and the flaps fit poorly in the extended position. Following the FSM review of the kit, I removed all of the bumps and fairings around the flap area and carefully glued each section down individually. I believe I did the outer sections first, then the inboard, then the center, checking the Detail & Scale Vol. 1 for the correct position of each section. Unfortunately, later I had to go back and make new flap actuator fairings to replace the ones I had to remove. It's a lot of work, and shouldn't be. I think if you nail the flaps and can make the cockpit look good, it will look just fine. I should also note that the 1/48 Academy P-40B, and ME-109s are all Hobbycraft re-releases.
