Need top turret canopy for 1/72 B-25 NEED HELP!!!
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, October 28, 2003 7:34 PM
hey guys, I need some help here. Im working on Hasegawas 1/72 B-25J when I dropped my top turret canopy on the floor. When I rolled my chair out to find it, all I hear is " crunch" Banged Head [banghead]Censored [censored]Censored [censored]Sign - Oops [#oops] Well, needless to say, its beyond repair. So, I figured Id find a vacuum formed canopy set, no luck there. I searched Squadron, Internet Hobbies, VLS and Great Models webstore.Does anyone know if there is a set made? Or, does anyone happen to have one nesting in their spares box? I figured Id try here first before writing Hasegawa and waiting who knows how long to even find out if I can get a replacement. Please please please help. thanks in advance, tim

I understand how frustrating your situation is. Since this Hasegawa 1/72 B-25 is still new in the market I doubt if there is somebody there who's got a spare top turret and surely there are still no aftermarket accessories. One thing you can do is vacuform one yourself using clear acetate like the one from Squadron. If you can't then write Hasegawa. Good luck!

Hey Monsterarmour, have you tried falcon vacforms? they seem to do most popular WW2 stuff. hope this helps. Greg

I remember building a B-25 back in the day. I´ll check if I have a spare turret. I remember saving all the extra stuff in a box somewhere.
But I think it was an Italery model so I´m not sure if it fits though.

I HATE when that happens!
I'm sure someone like Squadron will soon come out with one but that doesn't help you for the moment, I know.
I know this won't help you in this situation since the part is crushed, but I am curious if anyone out there has had any experience with Thermaform. Seems like the part that you form off the original would be a little oversized.
Anyway, monster, something will turn up for you...Until then, you have my deepest empathy. Been there. Done that. Too many times. Sad [:(]
