It was on Discovery Wings last night and I believe is on a few times today....maybe even at 10 am EST?? Anyways-- it talks of a Texas Air Museum that obtains and restores a Fw-190 ("White One") flown by a German named Heinz Orlowski. I'd love to model this one-- does anyone know what variant of the 190 it is??
Anyways-- the show is worth watching if not just for the last 15 minutes where the now elderly man is reunited with the plane he flew 50 years before....he looks like a kid at Christmas....I swear he was smiling so wide it looked as if his face could stretch no further, and tears streaming from his eyes, he caressed the cockpit and controls as if being reunited with a long-lost lover. It was amazing to see....
