It's about time we got a decent super hornet. I started to build the Italeri. Ouch! What crap. Gotta wait until december. Now how about a new tool F-5 and F-8 series!

I agree on the Italeri kit, they can't seem to get aircraft right, sort of like AMT.
Pay the money and go with Tamiya, Hasagawa, Academy, or even Revell.

Don
I know it's only rock and roll, but I like it.

Huh? A Hasegawa F-18F? Where did you hear this at? If it's true That'll be great news. At the IPMS nats. back in July, I heard that Revell/Monogram was coming out with an all new F/A-18 E and it was being engineered by the same group that worked on their Strike Eagle. The rumor was that Hasegawa itself wasn't going to come out with their own mold, but rather use Revell's and re-issue the kit as an F. I've seen the 1/48 F/A-18E in Revell/Monogram's future kit listing, but haven't heard of a release date yet. Either way, I'm anxious to see a better rendition of the Super Hornet.

According to Model Art, Hasegawa is releasing an all-new 1/72 F-18F next month, selling for 1,800 yen ($16.36 US). They will be distributing Revell America's 1/48 F-18E here in Japan as well, selling for 5,800 yen ($52.72 US).

By the way Plum, you do know about Hasegawa's superb 1/48 F-8 series, don't ya? Or ar you hoping for a new 1/72 series?

I do mostly 1/72, just a few special 1/48. Price, space and time are concerns. The F-8 may get me to briefly defect. I'm hoping for a new tool F-8E and RF-8G at least. I have the old tool with the RF conversion. I'm too lazy though.

Thyamis, watch out for those 1/72 Tamiya. They rebox Italeri for the asian market. The WWII stuff is their tools as is the Thunderjet and Skyray kits. Their own 1/72 tools are fantastic. I bought all but the Thunderjet.

Hey Plum,
Have you seen the new Italeri F-8? Any good?

I've been avoiding Italeri like the plague. The Hasegawa kit is pretty good but with raised panel lines. The Fujimi kit is just frightening. We need a new tool F-8 - 1/72.

That's good news on the F/A-18E/Fs. I bought the Italeri kit in Singapore (little cheaper there) and was disappointed when I opened the box. I'll build to better my skills, but I doubt I'll make it a show piece.

I started the Italeri F-18E but may not finish. I have twobobs decals for both F-18E and F but won't waste them on the Italeri. Maybe I'll let the turtles play with it...
