Airplane from Raiders of the Lost Ark
Posted by Killjoy on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 9:15 PM

A Number of years ago, in FSM, there was an article about taking a toy model of the ficticious German plane from Raiders of the Lost Ark, and making it look realistic.  Does anyone remember this?  I would love to find a link to the article, and maybe anyone who has info about this kit and where it can be found.

Thanks for your knowledge!

Chris

Chris what you are looking for is the Indiana Jones Micro Action Airplane it was only produced for Disney and only sold at Disneyland. It's about 1/48 scale and when worked on as recommended in the FSM article it makes up to a decent looking model. It was discontinued many years ago. Once in a while one will show up on e-bay. over the past three years I found two of them offered by a toy dealer in England. I converted one and my son did the other one. Send me an e-mail with your address to gdking@metrocast.net. I'll send you a photo of it. I would post it if I could but I never have any luck doing it. Gordon

Here is an alternative!  And you don't have to make a bid for it. :)

For Gordon and anyone else interested, the Raider flying wing is also at Disney World.  Three years ago I went into the shop just outside the Indy stage show and there were at least 50 of them in racks.  I did buy one because of the article.Smile [:)]

Do you know how long it would take before you can download it from the site? I often find that when I use the "subscriber-only" link and search for info, that I get a nice list of stuff but what I really want doesn't have a link--just stares at me with black text amongst a list of red article links :P
