Academy 1/32 F-18
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, October 31, 2003 4:00 PM

Well here I am doing the paint scheme for the F-18. I decided to do Blue Angels. I thought I was being the individual doing this scheme but later to find out there are plenty out there. I have a question for anyone who has the knowledge. Do the Blue Angels still have there service stencils on the aircraft? Example= "no step", "beware of jet exhaust"?

I looked through some photos of the Angels' F-18s and don't see any clear service stencils (i.e. they are not stenciled in yellow), but that doesn't mean they're not painted in black.

I thought the Angels used A models, not C? Hope you've back dated the cockpit and the tails...

I am quite certain they're flying the C.

To the best of my knowledge they're still all F/A-18A's.

An old bet I had with my Dad! He said they were flying C's, but I told him they are A models. Last year at Aerospace America, the Blues were the flight demonstration team seected to fly. I managed to find one of their maintainance presonell and asked him. The team is indeed flying 6 late A models and two twin seat B's. As for the stenceling, there aren't nay on Blue Angel aircraft.
