normally 200L fuel drums were painted some shade of gray from 02 and darker. Might also have been a zinc (light green) color. The fuel type may have been stenciled on the top of the drum in white (B4 or C3). red stripe on the drum could mean MW50.

You can paint the fuel drums in tank grey (Revell 78), with weathering it works well.

Luftwaffe fuel drums- which colour ?

Just about to paint some 1/72 fuel drums for my "Heavy Lifters"  Cargo Plane GB entry.  Were avgas drums painted any distinguishing colours ?   Diorama is set in Sicily, resupplying DAK forces in 1943. I'm not really fussy about whether its aviation fuel or  diesel for vehicles, just dont want to miss something.
