Su-27 paint help!!!!!!!!
Posted by traveller on Saturday, May 17, 2008 10:59 PM
Hi to all, I am about to begin a dual Su-27 build(Academy 1/48). I need to find, in acrylics,FS 34138 dark green, FS25450 dark blue, FS25526 blue gray, and FS25550 light blue. I can only get out of my LHS Gunze, Tamiya or the new Humbrol acrylics. In a pinch I have access to Lifecolor paints. Could some help me to find the equivalents!! Thanks!!!!

Testors and Xtracolor both have made the correct shades in their enamel lines, but that does not look like much help to you. In Tamiya I suggest the following colors:

34138: xf-58 olive green or xf-26 deep green

25450: xf-23 light blue, but it needs to be lightened and grayed a bit

25526: a mix of xf-25 light sea gray and xf-23 light blue

25550: x2 white mixed with xf-23 light blue.

if you run each FS number on a websearch, you can get a computer color chip-not the most accurate way) and eyeball a match that looks right to you.
