Not only did the 190 fly over France, but it was also produced there as well, if my memory serves me well.

Try the new Hasegawa Dora 9 if you like FW's.
I have been thinking about combining the two kits (with some resin extras) to produce the ultimate 190 kit, but thats on the back burner for the moment.

I am building that kit right now and really enjoying it. There's a lot of potential for scratch detailing... I'm using styrene and other materials. I'm not sure if there are any aftermarket resin/PE parts available for this particular model. I cut the cowling panels to expose the engine and plan on fixing the cover to display the twin MG131's mounted behind the engine. The detail on the BMW 801D-2 engine has a little to be desired... I've been working from a lot of photos and have to rely on some imagination to make it work (appreciate reading the "heads up" on the engine fit). The cockpit is okay, but that too could use some extra detail. This is the first model I've done where I'm adding extras for detail... I've been working in 1:72 for quite a while and the 1:32 scale is quite refreshing.

Revell's 1/32 Fw 190F-8 is indeed the old Hasegawa Fw 190A-8 with raised panel lines - Revell added the necessary parts to convert. Incidently, the F series were created to replace the Stuka in the ground attack role.

I thought the Revell FW190F-8 was a good kit, I had a few problems with fitting the engine but nothing major. According to Squadron's FW190 in action the F-8 served on all fronts. I'm a 1/48 guy myself but I liked the kit. Bob

Isn't that the re-boxed 1/32 Hasegawa Fw-190 F-8..? If so, there's a god review of the kit in issue May 1989 of FSM.

Fw 190F-8 Question?
Posted by Bwog on Tuesday, November 4, 2003 8:56 PM
Does anyone know...
1.) If Fw-190F-8s served/flew over France in combat during WWII?

2.) How good/bad is Revell's 1/32 Fw 190F-8?

I build modern aircraft kits and like to branch out every now and then.

thanks in advance for your time and ensight,
bw
