CF-105 Arrow released
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, November 5, 2003 9:38 PM
I just got it in the mail, I have been waiting for quite a while for this kit to be released. Hobbycraft has finally released the CF-105 Avro Arrow. Can't wait to get it built, it's 1/48 scale so it's going to be fairly big. Just to let you know if you are fans of the Arrow

I think the Arrow is the greatest plane ever flown in Canadian Airspace, or any other, but every time I see it I just want to cry. Canadian government made a criminal act by having it cut it to ribbons.

Macross,
You'll have to post a review of the kit. That should be very large in 1/48. I had never seen one until recently, it is a very impressive looking A/C.

Have funSmile [:)]

Our review copy of the kit arrive this week and has already gone out to a reviewer.

Wasn't there a big-budget movie about the Arrow project with Tom Hanks or a similar high-profile actor as the lead? I caught a good bit of it one Sunday afternoon a few years ago and rather enjoyed it.

Hey All!

The film actually starred Dan Akroyd, and was a rather good film. I'd like to see someone build an Arrow like they did in the film, full scale and all. Maybe Paul Boyer could show us all he's more than just 1:72 scale........who knows?

Ah yes, Dan Aykroyd. Apparently, it was a made-for-TV movie: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118641/

IMDB has an image of a DVD release cover http://www.videomatica.com/images/fronts/f34363.jpg but Amazon doesn't appear to be selling it. Bummer. I wouldn't mind seeing that again. If nothing else, the movie taught me that the CF-105 was *not* a Thunderchief built under license in Canada! [:0]

I do indeed hope this Arrow kit is a new tooling rather than a re release of Hobbycraft's existing 1/48 Arrow kit.

Both their 1/72 and 1/48 Arrow's have been released and re released over the years and are starting to show their ages. It's been a long time coming if this kit you're all speaking of is a new tooling.
