I intend to do an RAF stretch MK3 Herc cutaway with a harrier GR3 on JATE trolleys someday.
I remember flying into Pope in'89, practically the whole 317TAW came to have a look, including a few jar heads that had never seen a complete harrier airlifted before.
When we reached Belize, she was assembled and flying airtests by nightfall.
A real interesting winch job that was!

You could spend hours and hours on those kits if you wanted to. Bigger scales do nt necessarily mean better, more difficult kits. It's up to ou to give yourself some challenges, like adding details inside the fuselage, on the undercarriage, on the engines, dropping flaps, opening up doors and the like. Hasegawa have some great 1/200 C-130 kits, absolutely well enginered and just asking for some time, reference and efforts to turn them into magnificent show pieces. And you can have 4 or 5 for the space needed by that 1/48 kit...

C-141 is also available
