C47 was the US mil designation for the DC3 freighter/ glider tug.
The Lisunov Li2 had a dorsal turret (from an IL4) and the cargo door was on the port side and M62 engines.(2000+ built)
The Japanese built Showa/Nakajima L2D reporting name 'tabby' (500+ built) had extra windows on the flight deck a teardrop dorsal turret and KI43 or KI51 engines.
The DC3 had more than one designation in US service, ranging from the C47 to C84, the Navy had R4D's.
The 47 had large side doors, stronger freight floor, glider tow attachments and folding wooden seats on the sidewall.
The C53 Skytrooper was a troop transport with a smaller door, a wooden floor and fixed metal seats.

This is Hasegawa's 1/200 kit. Admittedly, I added and removed bits to represent this aircraft left rotting away at Quito's international airport, sometimes in the late '80s.

It was great fun to do. The livery is 'home-made'. (the truck is scratch).

1. Hasegawa's 1/200 (real cute!)

2. Academy's 1/144 (real nice too!)

3. Italeri's 1/72 (nice)

In 1/72 and smaller scales.
which one would you recommend
found italeri (1/72), hasegawa (1/100?), Minicraft (1/100?144?)
