What's the point of the start date if you allow early starts?  Why not just start it now if you're going to allow that?  I'm confused.

But also interested as I have a P-51 in the stash.  I'll let you know closer to the start date.

Building Now:

1/48 Academy Bf-109G6 - 100%

1/48 Tamiya F4U-1A - 5%

Upcoming:

1/48 Revell F-14D

Well, I was going to join, but I'll probably be done with my stang before this thing even starts.

Why not just start it now and end it in 4/09?  Heck, the Black Widow is 2+ years.

If you decide to bump up the time frame, put me in for a 1/48 Tammy D with Aires cockpit and wheelbay set.

-Fred

P.S.  Just made a quick GB badge, just to try it out.  If you like it, just right click, go to properties and copy the link and paste it in your signature.

O.k thanks Gigatron Sorry about the time frame I just thought that other people were busy with other things so I'd start later but heck we'll go now.

We'll guys, I'll be joining you in a month or two.  (I'm building my first ship right now, ships are tough.)  I have 4 kits for this one, but I don't know what to build.  You guys should give me feedback.  All these kits are 48 scale by Accurate Miniatures:

1. P-51A Mustang

2. F-6A Mustang (Tac-Recce Fighter)

3. A-36 Apache

4. P-51 Mustang (just P-51)

I got this stash of stangs for just $20.  You can haggle with the vendors tables.  So, which one should I build first for this Group Build?

Chris

Cool IL it'll probaly be an easier build than that B-58Laugh [(-D].

   Chris what about the A-36?

Excelelnt, count me in, not sure which one I will do yet as I have to finish other GBs first....

Actually, I have a question, someone gave me a Tamiya P-51D Mustang 8th AF, but the "Silver Color Plated" edition, in which ALL sprues are chrome.. I guess to replicate NMF if you dont want to paint? Anyways, was thinking of primer-spraying the whole thing but is the quality of "chrome" plastic the same as "regular" plastic? Seems more brittle to me...?? I dont have much experience at all, so I may be in error... but I dont want to start to build it down the road and have it fall apart or not "take" paint.thanks

You'll likely run into an issue with the primer not sticking well.  You can strip off the chrome by soaking the parts in Fantastik (or is it 409?) cleaner.  The chrome will dissolve right off the parts in a short time.  There will be a yellowish gloss left behind on the parts which you can leave on if you're still aiming for a NMF finish.

I can verify which cleaner to use once I get home.

By the way, Raptordriver, put me down for a 1/48 Tamiya P-51D.

OK Andrew, I'm new at GB's but I'll give it a try.  It will be a P-51D 1:48 Hasagawa or Revell or both.  Now I'll try to figure how to get the GB logo on my posts.

That's a great looking stang right there.  Those RAF colors really suit the Mustang.  It's better looking than a Spitfire.  Nice weathering there on the Model.

Hi raptor, I think I have a couple of Accurate Mini TAC Reece Mustangs I'll look and find a suitable kit since we have time for me to finish the IMS2 before I start on this one.
