Aftermarket parts for german post ww2 armor
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, November 14, 2003 8:43 PM
Hi,

Does anybody know if there are aftermarket parts for german post ww2 military vehicles available? I am interested mainly in parts for the Leopard 1 and 2 MBT's, Marder IFV and Gepard AA-Tank. If anyone has any hints if would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I would certainally check Eduard, they seem to cover almost everything. I'm sure someone may know of others.

I agree with tigerman .... Eduard has PE sets for Leopards and the Gepard for sure, not too sure about the Marder.

Here's a link to their home site http://www.eduard.cz/ but their product is available from many suppliers in North America.

Happy Modelling and God Bless Robert

ModelPoint has some aftermarket barrels available for Leopard Tanks. I've got a couple and they are very nice and worth the money (approx 15-22 dollars depending on where you get them.) I've built the RoG Marder 1a3 out of the box, but I believe there is a p/e set available for it and the aftermarket barrel for the Tamiya Marder 1a2 will work on the 1a3.

Yes, I have a set for the older Tamiya Marder (35098), but not for the newer Milan equipped one. Good thing is that most of the parts are interchangeable so you can use the SPW Marder PE set (35022) on the Marder 1A2. Model Point also makes an aluminum barrel for the Marder. It should work for any Marder kit (Revell or Tamiya).

Thanks everyone for the tips and the warm welcome. I will keep Eduard in mind for one of my next projects. But I have another question while we are at it. Are there interior kits for Post ww2 german armor available as well?

Thanks again
