Dragon 1/35 SU-85M Finished
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, November 19, 2003 1:15 AM
Great little kit, with the only fit problems being a slight adjustment needed between the upper and lower hulls. The indie tracks went together quite well, with very little cleanup required overall. A great kit of an interesting Soviet Destroyer.

Comments welcome.

Looks real good Demono. What paint did you use? Does not look like a 'normal' Soviet topside green..?

Thanks, Domi.
Actually, I just used a grey, as I thought it looked a bit cooler than the green. Why be normal?

demono69,
Nice job! The detail looks to be pretty good! I can't tell much from the pictures, but did you do any weathering, etc.?

Nice work, Demono! Good-lookin' Su-85.
Gracious of the Soviets to paint those targets on the sides of the forward hull, too! All it is missing is a "Shoot my driver, please!" sign next to it!

Seriously though, good work. The trax are very well done!

Looks great Scott !!! Agree with Gip about the pics being a little tough to pick out details, but looks like a very clean build.

Thanks Approve [^]Approve [^]Approve [^]

Nice Job Scott! I guess the Soviets were just being kind to the Hitler Jungend that went to defend Berlin... so they knew where to aim the Panzerfaust before the mounted infantry took them out.

Thank you for the kind words. Hopefully, a new camera will be inder the tree to help rectify the pic quality sometime soon. Weathering was a light drybrush of silver over all of the vehicle, followed by a heavy armor wash (black metallic). I'd hate to have a target on my head, too.

If I were the driver, I'd be investing in more paint, or changing roles with the 'artist' Big Smile [:D]

Demono. Why be a sheep and paint it green, when you can be the shepherd and paint it what you want to. Looks great the way it is.

Thanks for showing the pics.

Looks really good. The grey color scheme is actually nice for a change. Now that would be great to put beside a T-34 or JS-2 on the shelf.

Thanks for posting the pics.

Nice job Demeno,

I agree. Gotta love those Dragon kits. Exactly like you said - not as much cleaning - more time building.
