Starting Model

Hello everyone,
Was wanting to see if anyone had some ideas as to a first armour model for someone just getting back into the hobby after about a 15 year hietus. I have a auto "71 Plymouth GTX" to work on while waiting but know I will preffer armour and aviation models mostly ,prefferably german WWII erra. Also basicly new to the hobby since it has been so long and that was back in my teens when use to build models.

a tamiya Panther G any of them or there Kingtigers are very good kits

As for your question, scan down through the questions that have been posted. There are at least 2 or 3 questions like yours in the past few weeks. Don't get me wrong, we're all most happy to help, but I think you'll find the answers you're looking for in them.

Welcome Dorgan. There are so many choices. I'll always recommend Tamiy's Tiger I late. Nice kit , but it does have indy tracks. Caveman makes a good point. German armor rules. Sorry Robert. Wink [;)]

I'll forgive you Eric ..... best bets are from the Tamiya line, a very good first Armour kit would be their Panzer II. Not the most accurate, but nicely engineered and fairly reasonable in cost. Just a great little kit to cut your teeth on.

I would say a Tamiya Steel Wheel Panther would be a nice starting point!

Like everybody else said - go for a Tamiya

I would try a "Jagdpanther" Tamiya 35203 - You got suspension and wheels, a one piece hull, some exterior detail and some tracks. It's a good sized model - plenty of straight and smooth surfaces to paint.

And it will look awesome next to those little cars

I was in the same postion a month ago, 20ys since the last model i built!!!![:0]

Tamiya has got to be the way to go. they are much better now and there are lots of after market stuf to improve the look even more.

I started with a Panther G Late and jumped in with both feet and got the Aber fender set as well.

Welcome Dorgan, Lots of good kits mentioned already and I'll just repete that just about any Tamiya kit will be a good starter. Look forward to seeing you around more.
