1/16 Scale Ammo
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, November 22, 2003 2:21 AM
It's the newbie again :)

I've had a look on the Web and can't find anything, so I thought I'd ask the experts. Does anyone know if it is possible to get hold of 1/16 scale 88mm shells for my Tamiya Tiger ?

Cheers

Hiya Bids,

Check out the Verlinden website. I just came from there and they had 1/15 scale 88mm shells for a German anti-tank gun. Since the Tiger was basically built around the famed 88mm anti-aircraft gun, I figure the ammo would be more than similar enough. Good luck.

Cheers Okieboy - just what I'm after :)

I notice that there are no UK distributors - do you know of any US ones that would ship overseas without a problem (I've e-mailed a couple on the Verlinden site, but prefer to order from someone who you know to be good/reliable).

Cheers

Howdy, bids!
Have you finished your 1/16 Tiger? And have you been over to the 1/16 Tiger group build topic? We'd love to hear your thoughts on this kit and see how you approached building the big beastie.

Hi J-Hulk,

My 1/16 Tigger is indeed finished, but due to it being only my third tank it is a standard dark yellow build - nothing special I'm afraid as I simply don't have the modelling skills and experience you lot have. I am chuffed to bits with result though - even if it doesn't look anything special compared to the ones in the group builds. I think the quality of the kit makes building it very easy to construct - never ceased to amaze the precision of the parts during construction. Oh - and I have been following (and lurking) the group build thread for a number of weeks - it was this that made me go from 1/35 to 1/16 scale in the first place :) And I'll say it again - I've been a member of numerous forums (as an IT chappy at work) and this forum certainly rates highest on the help/newbie friendly scales :)

Cheers

FSM sure is a nice place, that's for sure!
I haven't even started my Tiger yet, even though I'm one of the original group build members! Glad to hear it's a smooth build OOB. That'll make dumping all the extra detail on that much easier!
