T-28 Bridgelayer

Here's ICM's T-28 "bruckenleger-ski?"

Don't know the russian name for this but it is a cool kit. Good fit - even the bridge. It only took me about an hour to assemble the bridge sections. The kit comes with a drivers interior and engine with drive train but since you can't really see it - more stuff for the parts bin!

Thanks for lookin'

Mark

Mark I'm really getting a kick out of these posts of yours. These oddballs are very cool and you've done a great job with them. Does the frame that the bridge is attached to move?

I ran across this one in an issue of xterme modelling, and it looks like a really cool build. What was you experience. I was going to build a diorama with a Tamiya Sturmtiger I am working on. but I'm thinking of getting one of these and including it somehow. Does anyone know if the bridge this thing carries could support the weight of a Sturmtiger ?? What I would really like to know is if anyone has built this with the bridge deployed ? I really like the look of it, and think it would be a pleasurable build. I looked on PMMS and IPMS, and did'nt see anything about the bridge being deployed.

Great build of a fascinating subject. I built one of these some years ago - enjoyable challenge to get the bridge-launching arms set up right, and the sag on the track just right.

Although large, the basic T-28 wasn't very heavily armed or armoured, being a classic early 1930s large tank design, intended to escort infantry rather than take out other tanks. It weighed less than a Sherman, so I'd be surprised if the bridge could take the weight of a Sturmtiger.

Cheers,

Chris.

Nice looking build, mstazz62!!Thumbs Up [tup] Overall do you reccomend this kit or not?Question [?] Because after seeing somone's T-28 in the April issue of the FSM reader gallery, my intrest has somewhat spiked in this kit. Might get it if it's an overall good manufactered kit.

mg. mikael - Yes, I highly recommend this kit. Good detail (a little softer than say, Tamiya or Dragon) but very nice. Builds well - the bridge went together especially well.

I haven't been online since before the holidays (the holidays, school, life, etc...) so when I went on line last night I was surprised to see this thread o' mine up on the screen - weird.

Anyway thanks for the interest in the kit. Oh, it's an ICM kit - their T-35 mutli turret monster is also a very good kit. If you see one snag it - It also builds up very nice.

Probably due to the fact that the original post was made back in November of 2008. Laugh [(-D]

I know, I'm diggin up a two year old thread

Mark, I'm starting this same kit build

do you know how the bridge mechanism was deployed?

and what color base coat did you paint yours?

your model looks great esp. how you handled the track links and bridge assembly
