Hello, I was just wondering earlier today, during the most boring class imaginable (spanish with my teacher) how do peopel get the wear and weather beaten look on a tanks paint, its like discolored in spots making for a sort of enviroment created camoflauge, great example on T34 models like these (i gave the links because I dont want to take the time to figure out how to work the picture thing again)

if you look close you can see like different tones in the green base coat. and the track armor on the front of the one picture the rust looks real, unlike what ive tried. mine always looks to brilliant of an orange color. how can I do this to make my tanks look more real??? please help with any possible advice. thankyou

Those weathering effects are probably done using pigments, paint chips applied by a very small brush and what are called filters (about 95% thinner to 5% paint). There is a section on missing-lynx.com called rarities world that can explain these techniques better. The tricks and tips message board is also a good place to check out. I have used pigments and filters and these techniques do make your finished model look very good.
