"littletimmy" is good, makes me think of my own youth, and adulthood, to be honest.

At the time I chose my screen name, I was using something as simple as possible for business reasons, that's why it's first initial, last name. Now that I no longer have that as a consideration, I use either "offroadwine" or "eye roll", depending on what type of forum I'm on. Being the borderline obnoxious type person I am, I have fun with screen names, handles, etc.

And re HvH: I do miss his work and posts, as he did a lot of model recycling, taking older models apart and re-doing them, using them for parts, things like that, which I have a soft spot for.

Stik, I can't believe your "non- Anglo-Saxon foreign" last name would be a problem in Cali, or anywhere else in the U.S. for that matter. ;)

Beleive you me, it has been twisted so many ways I cant count, both here in Cali and every place I've been with Uncle Sam

I know I posted this on another thread, but I will keep this post a "little: shorter....

Back in high school, ( when I had perfected the art of being a "scoff-law" ) a freind's father came up with the nick-name  Little Timmy.

It had something to do with the TV show Lassie..... what's that Lassie ??? Little Timmy fell down the well ???

Those of you who remember the show will recall that "Little Timmy" got into all kind's of trouble ........ so did I .......

Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"

Hmmm;

Never saw this before.  My Name should be Obvious. I build all scale and types of maritime Tank Ships. Hence Tanker-Builder. In early years, after Military Service I worked my way up from the Engine Room to the Bridge on Civilian freighters.

Got beached illegally in a foreign port! Was able to get a Chief Engineers Berth with P and O. Then sailed with Matson. Got a shot after getting my certificate, to work in Tankers.

Sailed for a well known company for ten years. Went from a modified lengthened T-2 to a " Mega?" tanker 1345 feet at the waterline . Her name,  Orion !( company name deleted) Built tanker models from childhood. There are so many different types, even Beer tankers! Nuff said. Catchya later ----  Tanker - Builder      ( P.S. my latest under construction - an H.O.Scale Beer Tanker !!)

Mine is easy, last name is Bishop. In the British army every one has a knickname, so of course mine was Bish.

Yeah, that happened to me in the Army as well. I have one of those long non Anglo Saxon "foreign" last names, so it was usually shortened down to Cis or Cisco... after being murdered in any possible way

Bish

By the way Carlos, ITV is a Television channel in the UK. Hope that helps Big Smile

Now that you mention it, I do remember that logo on certain TV shows and movies... wise guy

Wow, talk about some forum flyers I haven't see in a while.....  I was wondering waht happened to a lot of folks, like doog, HvH, etc, who used to be the heavy contributors here.

And Manny. Where's Manny.

Google search Karl Logan. Be sitting down.

HvH had a serious injury a number of years ago. I was communicating back channel with him for a while but he went silent.

Manny was permanently banned back in about 2012.

Bill, if you do hear from HvH please tell him we miss him here. It's not the same without him around.

Wow, I liked him, seemed like a nice guy. I did court-martial jury duty for a case about similar offenses. This is not good.

Still quite active, web site still up, just not posting here as much as the old days. Easier to put up pics of FB....guess I am lazy.

We have a lot of new faces and names on here on FSM since this thread was last updated, with more showing up every month. So how about those who have not yet added their tale of their chosen call sign for FSM to do so again...

"Fermis" is a nickname, given to me by an old girlfriend.

It is a unit of measurement, equal to 1 quadrillionth of a meter. It's kinda like calling a monsterously obese dude "Tiny"....but kinda dif'rnt!

“Manstein’s revenge” sounds like what happens after you buy a questionable model in a country with no potable water supply.

It’s like “buyer’s regret”, but a toilet and abdominal pain is involved.  Stick out tongue

Yes, a lot of names in this thread I haven't seen in a long time. Always wondered where Sprue-ce Goose and VanceCrozier disappeared too.

Anyway, I'm a big Arkansas Razorbacks football fan, hence the hogfan. But, back in the late 90's, I was attempting to create a new email login when hogfan was taken. And so was hogfan1 and hogfan123, so I got creative in a nerdy kinda way, and added fs to the back of hogfan to get hogfanfs. The fs stands for "file system", for all you computer nerds.

All these years and I never knew that. Cool. Smile

Mine's just my name, about as unoriginal as possible. I've said it here before, creativity is not my strong point. Stick out tongue
