Paint compatability and isreali armor colors
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, December 6, 2003 6:06 AM
I have 2 questions:

1:Is gunzo Mr. Retarder compatible with Tamiya acrylic paints.
2:Given the lack of a source of Model Master israeli armor colors in my area, would any of you use Tamiya XF49 khaki on a merkava II?From what I have seen on the news, and in photos, this may be a good choice.

Visits to other website galleries have yeilded everything form a bright desert yellow to beige to RLM02 to light olive.
I would really value opinions from anyone.

Thanks
Chris

Chris i have try the Khaki for the merkave ( i havent built yet though) due to color compatible its is not easy. I only try testor amour sand on my Ti 67 isreali t 55 capture.

However i did ask around someone told me that u can undercaot the merkavwe with lighter shade of green and cover it with lighted yellow sand of tamiya, that means mix sand color with white .

the other way maybe use khaki mix with white and light green.

any try this website http://idfmodelling.free.fr/articles.html, it did mentioned something on the color

however i havent done my model yet im waiting for eduard parts to arrvie for my merkava III

Thanks Sentry,
Great site!As you can see,a wide variety of colors are present.
I might just go with XF49.
Got a long way to go.I just started the kit. It's been gathering dust in the closet for over a year.
