 Hi:

I was a crew chief in Vietnam 1966-67 LVTP5A1....... The area that you are pointing to is the aux. generator. We reffered to it as "little Joe"

It was used to re-charge the batteries and for electrical power when the main engine was not running.

I have some nice pictures if you need them. Meantime I would likesome advice on building a Diorama of my "Trac"

Thanks..... Sgt. Jim Falotico USMC (lomg time retired)

LVTP-5 interior - scratchbuilt

Hello all,

I'm writing for help. It's been a long time since I started building a LVTP-5 and the project expanded - now I plan to build it with the bow ramp open and 3 Marines inside and some 10 on top of it. So I went for scratchbuilt interior. Let me show You what I have so far:

Amtrac

My question is: what is located in the compartment the yellow arrow points to? Maybe somebody have some reference for the interior? (I'm especially interested in the area near the arrowhead) Any fotos of the real thing or TM data would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance fot Your time, happy modelling to all and have a nice day
