Stryker?
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, December 11, 2003 10:50 PM
Has anyone around here done a Stryker yet? I'm sittin' on a LAV-25 and thinking of kit bashing it into the Stryker. I got several shots of one at an air show and the two vehicles look pretty darn close to the naked eye. The only two obvious differences are the raised troop compartment and the lack of props on the rear.

It's much bigger than an LAV. It is based on the Canadian LAV III, two generations past the USMC LAV series. Visually, they look similar, but you would see the difference if they were parked next to one another.

The only experience I've had with the Stryker was at Fort Knox last summer watching them drive around. I did ask the crews, of mixed infantrymen and tankers, how they liked them. The tankers didn't like them much and the infantry guys did! (almost anything's better than Ruckin' it, and very little compares to an Abrams!)

Go to AEF.com.
I think they have some stuff there on the stryker.
