Humvee Help
Posted by lgevent on Friday, December 12, 2003 9:22 PM
Does anyone know what is the interior color of the Humvee? The instructions of the new Tamiya Humvee say the interior is NATO Green but I cannot find this color in any of my local hobby shops. Is there an FS number for this color or is there any paint from Testor, Humbrol, Gunze, Etc. that comes close? Tamiya does make this color but I will have to special-order it.

I just got the new Tamiya Humvee Armament Carrier and I would sure hate to ruin this beautiful kit by guessing what color to paint the inside.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Interiors of the Hardtop HMMWVs are forest green. Testors Model Master makes it, but I don't have the bottle handy right now. Tamiya makes a nice set of NATO green, brown and black if acrylics are your cup of tea.

Some of the newer HMMWVs are being manufactured in tan inside and out. Most are still camouflaged in the NATO colors though.

ours are green inside and heavily worn to the metal and rust. O-yeah and don't forget all the dents and holes that are pounded in or rusted through.
We also have this padding stuff, it's pretty thin but if you wanted to go all out, it's like the padding inside a jeep.

Click on the link at the end of my signature. I have some interior and exterior shots of one of my M966 TOW carriers. There are also several shots of various other HMMWVs I have, some in 3-color others in sand.
