hehehe
Don,t want to sound bigheaded but Moses,s signature pic is a Stug III G and Stug IVs never ever had a waffle patetrn zimmerit. Stug IV zim was a herring bone pattern. I,m not sure which issue it was but FSM did an article on recreating zimmerit on all the different AFVs recently. Maybe someone could let okieboy know.?

I would also like to see some pictures of your stug Okieboy. Are you going to add that famous waffle pattern zimmerit? That would look cool.

Hey Moses, your pic in your signature area was part of my motivation. But like I said earler, it may be months before I even buy the kit. I now have a Tiger I running around the house, and it takes up a lot of room. I have to admit that this hobby is addictive. Unfortunately, it is also expensive when you like the 1/16 scale like I do! If and when I do it, I'll need your advice on how to apply the zimm to the beast. Would you use the waffle pattern, and if so, how would to do it? I saw a recent article of someone using milliput for zimm and it looked a lot easier than the way I put it on my Tiger.

I'm limited to a Stug 4, because that's what Bandai is selling. This means that I can apply zimmerit!! I like the look of the schurzen (side skirts of metal), but they might not be compatible with the late version. I've already found some great examples in the track-link and missing-lynx galleries. Bob, at angelfire.com/goth has some outstanding models of the Stug. Dave at dave4what.com has the kit and all the R/C components at the following prices:

Stug kit: $239
Tamiya DMD-T03 (4 Channel): $210
Tamiya MF-01 Set with Speaker: $220

There's also some additional parts I'd have to buy from Tamiya, like some parts/screw bags. This is turning out to be a challenge I'd love to take.

Hiya folks,

Well after only a month of completing Tamiya's full option Tiger I, I've been mulling over what it would take to build and upgrade Bandai's 1/15 scale Stug to full option. (Hey, I think my Tiger needs a friend! Evil [}:)] ) I have a pretty good idea as to what it would take to do the mods from an article at www.fragarmor.org , but my problem is that I don't know a great deal about the history, color schemes, or variations of the Stug. This is where you, the experts come in. I just need to be pointed in the right direction. The catch is that I won't be able to even seriously think about buying the kit or other parts for about a year, so I'll content myself with research. Research is half the fun for me, which is fortunate because my wife is very apt to say no! I'd also like to find out if this type of mod is even feasible, since the Tiger is the only large scale R/C model I've ever built. So what do you guys think?
