swastika in a flag?
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, February 28, 2003 9:16 AM
Dear fellowsCool [8D]
Shy [8)]
I want to make german flags with the swastika. Once I made one in paper but was extremely complicated drawing the swastika in the middle of the white circle and beside I want it in Real Cloth not in paper. Disapprove [V]
1) What kind of cloth can I use that looks close to a real one in the scale that I work, 1/35 by the way ?
2) And about the circle and the swastika. Transfer something? Or someone sell those ready made flags and who. Question [?]
Thanks again. Approve [^]

If you have access to it where you are, Feria, you could use Milliput to create your flag. You can rioll it into very, vry thin sheets (that you then cut to the size you want) if you use plenty of talcum powder (baby powder) to prevent the rolling tool from sticking to the Milliput. The Milliput sheet can then be folded, waved and it will dry rock solid in a few hours. Then you can use decals to replicate the svastika.

Failing that, thin sheet of lead will do the trick as well (won't be as strong as the Milliput, though). Or the foil you'll find on top of margerine or yogurth containers or even around the neck of good wine bottles... A good excuse to have a drink!

I personaly use the lead foil or aluminum foil method. It will be very positionable and takes paint well. I seroiusly doubt that you will find any cloth that will look good in that scale.
