frosty's pix now on ronusmc site... i hope
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, December 17, 2003 12:26 PM
hi gang !
in case anyone has gotten exasperated by the fact that i keep posting without photos, i just wanted 2 let everyone know that i finally made it 2 a 'puter w/ a usb port & am now uploading lotsa pix to the ronusmc site.
i seriously apologize 4 not getting 'em up sooner, but better late than never, rite ?Big Smile [:D]
as usual, i have 2 say that none of these models is completely done... i'm planning on a weathering marathon come spring (thanks again 4 the airbrush, Ricky ! ) 'cause i can't spray paint in the house ...Sad [:(]
that's ok, tho'... i have plenty of projects 2 keep me busy 'til then !Smile [:)]
check 'em out when u get a chance!

Nice one on the Moo 1 Abrams Frosty. Pink Panther coming along nicely. Very Barbie...
The smaller scale stuff is also well done. When they get older, will they get bigger?Wink [;)]

Pretty impressive work there girl.

Thanks for posting the link, Ron. I was hoping someone would. I've put it in my favorites now!!

Nice work, Frosty. You are really a great crafts...er...person. I hate being politically correct, but such is the world. They really do look nice. I like the Hetzer, too.

Derek, as I said on the other thread, nice job on the turret. I especially like your choice of "observer" in the background of your 3rd pic. Your daughter, I assume. Very cute!

Nice job, Frosty

Can't imagine how little that Hetzer is. Wow!! [wow] They're small at 1/35. I like the winter camo on the M1

Nice job

You've been busy, Frosty. It all looks really good. The T-34 and the Abrams in particular..! My only comment would be that you do need to put nice frames around your dioramas... As in nearly everything in our world, presentation is important, and you'll see that a nice wooden frame, varnished or even painted, will embellish your work and all that effort & time you put in it. Keep them coming, Frosty!

hey everybody !
thanks ever so much 4 the kind words... Blush [:I]Blush [:I]Blush [:I]
i must repeat that any credit is due more 2 the inspiration, encouragement & help i have found here than anything else, altho' i'm always willing 2 work hard 2 try & 'get it rite', no matter how many tries it takes !
so this really means a lot 2 me... Blush [:I]Blush [:I]
u guys & girls r the BEST !!!! Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]

Domi:
i agree about the bases, those 2 were mdf offcuts & not really square...
(more dumpster diving at the museum !)
w/o a table saw, i decided 2 keep the clean edge with the thought that i mite plug the whole little section as a module into a larger dio one day ...
the next batch will have a more finished look, i hope ! Blush [:I]
glad u liked the abrams (hand painted camo challenge 4 me)
& t-34 (major chalk weathering & a scratchbuilt unditching pole w/ mounting brackets made from staples) !

Build22:
the hetzer is so small it fits in the palm of my (small) hand !
thanx 4 liking the winterized abrams, it was my 1st attempt at hand painting camo... i think i did better w/ the hetzer ! Wink [;)]

jeffl:
i think that's the kit u've got ! glad u liked 'Betty'; i was trying 2 find a name that was very wwii, was watching Stalag 17 on tv & this guy "Animal" had a fixation on Betty Grable, a very popular pinup girl at the time apparently...voila, problem solved!
plus 'betty' is climber slang 4 a cute girl, so it's kind of a personal joke ...;)]

DT:
c'mon, do a 1/72 revell abrams in winter scheme... u'll probably make mine look sad by comparison, but who said we have 2 compare anyhow ? Wink [;)]

thanx again 4 checking out my stuff, everyone !
i'm getting that warm fuzzy feeling all over again !!!Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]

thanx a (tiny) truckload...Smile [:)]Big Smile [:D]Smile [:)]
luckily 4 my shelves, these little guys r all done growin' in size, but as a model railroader i can safely say that the detailing mite go on 4 awhile yet ! Smile [:)].

to everyone:
so many of u good people here at this site have been such major inspirations 2 me in what i'm doing...
there r a lot of truly talented & genuinely nice people here, & i feel very lucky 2 have found this place, virtual as it may b !
i know u r cutting me lots of slack in ur evaluations of my efforts, but ur kind words still make me very happy and will keep a big smile on my face 4 quite some time 2 come ! Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]

Bill:
thanx !
LOL re: pc... i guess 'craftsgirl' is kinda awkward, not 2 mention sounding like some really lame superheroine ( altho' she could really do some damage between the #11 blades, hot glue gun & so forth !)
glad u enjoyed the hetzer, it's definitely one of my personal faves !Big Smile [:D]

and i agree about the "observer" too !
at first glance, i thought someone was doing a photochop w/ my panther & a little girl 2 have a giggle on me, & i thought that was pretty funny myself, then i realized !

looking forward 2 seeing some pix of ur stuff someday !
(r u hoping 4 a digicam this x-mas ? Wink [;)]Wink [;)] )
