Oh no, oh no, oh no!!! Just when I thought it was safe to say I'd earmarked all the new models I wanted. What is with DML, Trumpeter and Academy?? They are coming out with new/retooled kits so fast it's like trying to stay up with collectors cards! It just can't be done!! Better a glut than a famine, though!!

Thanks, Robert, for the heads up. Can't have too many Sherman's on the shelf!! lol
(Wonder if it will be one of their interior models? That could be interesting.)

Well, we had the releases of these cool kits since last month but I have not seen anyone of them yet. It would be great if I could finally get my hands on any of them.

Thanks for sharing the info, Sherm. Now all these announcements are driving me crazy in anticipation.

So is this a 'Lend-Lease' tank to Russia with love from Uncle Sam?

the turret looks odd, did the Ruskies do anything to the sherman?? or could it be made as American or British?

Yes, the Russians did use them.
M4A2's were also used extensively by the Marines. (But I don't think they had the T26 turret)

It's good to see. Hopefully it will have an interior.

The Russians were (to the best of my knowledge) the only ones to receive this variant during W.W.II. The British didn't have any, the U.S. didn't use this version of M4A2, but slap an E-8 suspension on it and you have a post W.W.II Canadian Sherman on your hands.

Bill - if you get this kit and an E-8 suspension and the figures from Verlinden .... you could build us standing in front of a Sherman. Big Smile [:D]

I agree with Bill. Academy and Dragon have been putting kits out, but where is Tamiya? Perhaps our spy Brian has some answers from the Far East.
Yoohoo, Brian any updates from Mr. Tamiya?

Unfortunately ... it probably won't be released in time for the start ... but one could certainly hope.

Boy, don't I wish...
It seems Tamiya has taken to tossing a few new sprues or a PE fret in an old kit and releasing it as "new" these days.
I haven't seen any cool news on the horizon.

But ya never know...maybe they're waiting to wallop us with something totally unforeseen!

I just had a look at the "new" M1A2. Nice new sprues in the old M1A2 kit.

Now THAT would be a fun project! Couldn't use it for the fantasy project, since it's based in reality!! lol

Jeff- the movie would be "Enemy at the Gates".

Brian- Hopefully something a little more affordable than those $200+ super models that they're releasing. Keep us posted.

You mean their Master Series of built-up kits?
Yeah, I noticed those are REALLY expensive in the States. The Tiger I sells for about $160 USD here, but I think I saw it in FSM for almost 300 bucks? Zoiks!

Yes, I'd really like to see some nice, new KITS from Tamiya!

I agree that it looks odd, but that's only the box art, so the kit will most likely be more accurate (I hope!!!!). We can all dream that there'll be a nice wet stowed interior in this thing, but I wouldn't hold my breath!

You know how I feel about interiors! EVERY kit should have one!SoapBox [soapbox] Will the kit manufacturers ever hear us 'interiorholics'? And if they do, will they be accurate? Will Lassie pull Timmy out of the well? Will Rin Tin Tin save....

I want to know who Rin-Tin-Tin is going to save?

BTW: Did you notice on the picture of the real tank, the suspension is the late type VVSS? I'll bet Academy will give us the mid type VVSS and we can swap it out in the parts box for the late VVSS. I've only got about a million sets of the late VVSS from other projects. (Well, not really a million, but at least three.Big Smile [:D])
