Tamiya M113 desert version ODS
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, December 20, 2003 12:08 PM
Anyone have one of these? Just ordered this kit and wondered if it had appropriate decals / configuration for V Corps / 3rd ID in OIF. I saw a fair number of these when I was over there and being a Tomcat guy (i.e. venerable old platform), I couldn't resist the venerable old 113.

I haven't bought this kit but I did buy the M2A2 OIF version and if that kit is any indication, the M113 should be very good. Try this site for a review: www.perthmilitarymodelling.com

JJ, Welcome to the forum! If you have their new kit (just addded sprues to the old one) the kit M113A2 No. 265 - Desert Version has three options for the 3rd ID, however I don't know if one of those is Vcorps or not. All 3 were in Iraq during OIF though. Maj Ron or one of the other Army guys should spot this and give you some better answers.

Again, welcome and enjoy your M113!

Eric

Welcome to the happy home of Armor modelers! I had to go look at the ones I have built recently but all I have is the Academy IDF 113 . If it is anything like that one the details are really good. Best of luck ! and Let us know how it turns out
