Italeri 1:35 "Hummer Avenger"
Posted by MartianGundamModeler on Sunday, December 21, 2003 1:29 AM
I just picked up the Italeri Hummer with the attached cockpit and quad Stinger missile launcers for 1/2 off at Hobby Town USA. Me and my dad were just talking about Hummers the other day and he mentioned this version to me and i thought it sounded odd because i had never seen one before. [He's retired military and ex-cop and I am currently a police officer.] Anyway when i ran across this kit i had to have it since i have been toying with the thought of starting me a jeep/hummer collection like my dad's armor collection. [i already have a gazillion sci fi kits!] Any info anyone can relay on this type of Hummer and this kit would be greatly appreciated!

I did a review of the aftermarket items available for the Italeri HMMWVs: http://www.armorama.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=148

There's also another article in there that is about the Italeri-based HMMWV kits on the market. The Avenger has been around for a while. It took part in Desert Storm and currently you can see them stationed around parts of Washington, DC protecting vital government facilities from aerial attack like the ones on Sept. 11th.

Thanks that was a great article. Havving never been around many Hummers i wouldn't know what was acccurate or not and since I'm building this one for my dad [who both drove them and worked on them] i wanted to be as accurate as i reasonably could. Nice site!
