Tena's latest project
Posted by djmodels1999 on Tuesday, December 23, 2003 12:17 PM
My stepdaughter Tena, aged 13 (soon 28..!), has been working for a couple of weeks on her latest model. It's something she started to illustrate a school project (weapons), and get extra brownie points, so to speak.

She decided that I'd have nothing to do with it whatsoever and I can report (quite proudly) that to date, I've had absolutely no involvement with the building and painting of this 1/72 Airfix Mk I...

I know the tracks have been giving her some difficult times and I feel the second track will first need to be removed before being glued back so that it fits, if not properly, better around the tank...

Other than that, I've been quite impressed by the cleaning of the parts and the cleanliness of the build. Painting was done with a can of automotive grey primer, a very sound choice for this early tank... The tracks were probably painted a bit too early, but she had to try it her way.

Nice Job Tena! When I made this kit (at her age), I stapled the tracks together! .... that taught those stubborn things! Then later, sewing or super glue worked.

Again,

Nice job!

I built that kit this spring with a camo job. I melted the tracks together and then put them on (at no great ease) with the melt on the bottom.

looks good though!!!

Very nice work, I doubt my models looked as nice at that age.

As stated in the the first post of the thread ...this is still just a work in progress is it not ? Pretty hard to make too many criticisms at this point in time Tena, you've done a very good job up until now with it.

Keep us posted please as to it's progress.
