Squadron putty contains toulene so it shouldn't damege the plastic if used in small amounts.

Great tip maffen.
We've used that in the theatre prop department for years. Never thought of making resin molds for my models. Since I use toulene to thin down the silicone caulk, (its brushed on and built up in layers to retain detail) I'll have to see what effect it has on styrene or plastic.

That sounds cool. Could you post some pics so we can see what the molds look like?

well i've cast for a lee-grant 5 weels and 4 drivesprockets (it was a secondhand prebuild one where the weels were missing) and had no major problems, before pooring your resin just cut the exes silicone from the mold.

you know i'm in process of making a dio with a flak 88 and had the problem that there was only 6 wicker ammo containers in the box Dead [xx(]......problem solved , was thinkig about casting them myself but found that special casting rubber to make the mold cost to musch for wat it was so i tride using ordinary household silicone rubber . Taken one half of a container and scuirted some silicone ontop, let it dry for 2 days and removed the original, poord some polyester resin in and bingo got myself a exact copy Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D].Now gonna try of makin some roadweels and drivesprockets for another project of a prebuild LEE GRANT i've got from a friend that lost some wheels. keep you posted
