Italeri - Will They or Won't They
Posted by shermanfreak on Thursday, December 25, 2003 8:38 AM
Just saw this on one of the other modelling sites and thought I'd post it over here.

This is a pic from Italeri's home page.

So what are your thoughts fellow treadheads ..... is this a picture of something new to come from Italeri ..... or not.
We may have to wait until February for the "official" announcement.

Looks like theyre going to release a kit of that, Sherms. I dont think theyd have posted that painting if it were otherwise. Maybe we should go to their stand (F56) area H7 to find out.Smile [:)]

If this isn't a "coming soon" kit I think they are making a mistake. There seems to be a ot of interest in amphibious operations lately and a 1/35 LCI or LCM would probably sell good. The pic looks like it could be a sample of the box art.
Of course we are never satisfied, just the thought of an LCI makes me think about a 1/35 LCAC! Big Smile [:D]

Don't believe so ..... I think the Higgins Boat was a little smaller than this one.

I hope I'm wrong, but I think its just a piece of marketing art. Something to represent your arrival at the show......

Now if I'm wrong, I guess I'll just have to eat crow and go out and get that kit Wink [;)]

Doesn't have tracks but should be able to hold 1 M4, I think.

My 2 cents, looks like a LCVP to me. Much smaller than the LCM's but able to carry a jeep w/trailer or 21/2 truck.

I would be happy if Italeri released a 1/35th Centauro or even a LeClerc.

Here's a pic of an LCM (3)

Looks close to what's in the Italeri pic. But I don't really know squat about them.
According to the specs it could carry a tank up to 30 tons.

And I stand corrected on my Higgins Boat comment ... apparently all were based on his design.
