hey guys thanks for the help, i just saw the AFV kit on sale for $21 on the greatmodels website, so i think im gonna go in that direction. I am a broke college student after all, and if its on sale for that price i might as well go ahead with that one.

Rob is correct!
There's also a kit packaged as Okuno, but it's the Skybow kit marketed in Japan with a few extra goodies (like a caricature of a helmet-wearing bulldog for the cupola).

Just as an aside, I see just as many Skybow M-41s as I do AFV Club M-41s these days in the local shops. The current operational status of Skybow seems to be a hot topic these days, but the availibility of these kits indicate that they're either in business, there's a ton of stock left, of what stock they had just ain't selling. At any rate, plenty of Skybow still to be had.

Don't forget Skybow's M41A3, it is a great kit if you can find it. I have all three, AFV Club's, Skybow's and a couple of Tamiya's. I have every aftermarket item produced for the Tamiya M41 to include Ordnance Model's PE, Eduard PE, Barrel Depot tube, Tank Workshop resin mantlet and mufflers, the AFV Club suspension and track. Either the AFV or Skybow kit will produce a better kit OOB than the Tamiya kit with all the bells & whistles.

Yup, the AFV Club kit would be the way to go. With the AM parts added to the Tamiya kit, it'd be about the same price with less hassle.
I think I may have said exactly the opposite last time, but that's how I feel now!
I built the Tamiya kit with the Ordnance Models PE and resins sets, and you do get a nice Bulldog, but with the AFV Club kit, it's all right there in the box.

The AFV, without any doubts, but it's much more expensive than the older Tamiya kit...

hey guys i posted briefly near the end of the summer and i took 3 months off modeling for the semester and classes, and now that im back to modeling over break i was wondering which kit is better, the Tamiya M41 with aftermarket parts included, or the AFV m41. i figured someone on here would know. just on the percs of each one and any faults with each one.
Also im nearing completion of my stuart honey that was briefly suspended due to school and i started back up with it over break and im nearing completion so i hope to get some pictures to share with you guys soon.
thanks - Chris
