Mini Hobby Models, that's the one, thanks for the heads up. They make a merkava 2 I was interested in, plus a Challenger 2 and possibly a Leopard 2. But nowhere on the box did they have pics of the finished product.

With the name right, I can go find reviews. Thanks!

not all tamiya kits cost 50$! i picked up tons of kits for around 12$, of course they arent the newet and most detailed. but heres how i put it : a older tamiya kit 15$ a brass detail set 12$ and verlinden makes tons of details for these kits 20$ so, you can get a good deal. and anyone here who goes to model shows knows that u can get a good deal on kits. especially me. since im 13 years old they sold me awsome kits for as low as 1$Wink [;)]

Mini Hobby Models? I have a 1/48 Su-35/37 which was very cheap (about $16) and seems to be a decent kit, particularly considering the price. The only trouble I've noticed is that some of the recessed panel lines on the underside of the fuselage aren't the cleanest or straightest I've ever seen, but this is only in a few spots and are fairly hidden by ordnance. The canards also appear to be a bit tricky to install, but all in all it looks like it'll make a good kit.
Sorry for all the aircraft stuff in the armor forum, but it's the only Mini Hobby Models kit I have experience with.
They make armor, too?

Generally I agree with you, but on occasion I see some oddball makers making the models I want to build.

And in addition, I know Tamiya kicks ass, but for 50$ a kit worth? I (sadly) don't have that kind of dough to toss around anymore.

Dude, if I were you, i would stay away from any companies that come from red china. Trumpeter and Shanghai dragon are the only ones you should get that come from china, because all the rest is crap. Stick with the japanese and korean firms if your going to get models from asia.

I was at my local hobby shop and they had some new armour from a chinese firm called, I think, mini hobby maker, or something like that.

Their logo was a triangle formed by yellow, blue and red lines.

The price was right, but there were no pictures of the completed models, only paintings.

The Engrish (www.engrish.com) info on the box was horrible so I didn't buy anything, but I may be wrong.

In any case, they any good?
