2003 was really a breakout year for me, i completed alot of models, and i really turned from an aircraft lover to a die hard treadhead. i think more important than building the models was that i pumped in the money to get a good airbrush, compressor, drill etc.... as for completed models i really put out some nice work in the later part of the year

1. M4A3E2 Jumbo Sherman by Tamiya
2. M151A1 jeep by Academy
3. The Stuart Honey by Academy

im really lookin forward to 2004, good luck to all your projects!

Sorry those got pushed together. I tried to make three columns. I didn't know that would happen.

Next time I'll have to preview my post before I post it! [blush]

Then Go Man Go!!!!

That's great. I feel like I've accomplished something if I get 10 kits built in a year!

Miscellaneous Kits

Babylon 5 Space Station Eagle One Transport (Space 1999)

A Grand total of sixty-nine kits built for 2003. Shock [:O]Dead [xx(]

I know that some of you are probably thinking that is impossible, but I did it. I guess that is part of how I got such a big collection. I always have about 5 to 7 projects building at the same time, so it's no surprise to me when I finish 3 or 4 at the same time. Still, even I'm surprised that they added up to this many!

I apologize to those who don't believe that I did this many, but I have no reason to lie about it. As you can see from my previous post above, I thought iot was only 35 or so for the year.

Anyway, here's hoping that 2004 is just as productive for me. After all, I'm trying to reach 1000 kits built! Wink [;)]Big Smile [:D]

I suppose I did pretty good. I did'nt start building until the end of July when I decided to pick up an armor model at the store one day. Since then-

Lee M2 Bradley
Tamiya M151A2 Jeep
Tamiya M4A3 Sherman
Tamiya T62-A
Tamiya Leopard 2 A5
Acadamy M3 Stuart Honey
AMT Bandit Trans Am
Monogram 57 Vette
Hasegawa 1/72 jagdpanzer IV
and the Panther G that is pretty much wrapped up.

Would have been a few more but the Mrs. stole them .I'll have to try and slow down this year if I'm to be able to afford anything to build them with.

I've only recently been tempted by the dark side, so I only have one Tiger I ausf.H on the go (1/72). However, I completed 2 Wingy-Thingies in 2003 (my first two models ever).

More coming up soon.

2003 was an interesting year for me modeling wise. I switched from a 8 year run of building cars to armor. I started a modest reference library on armor stuff and also built the following kits:

Tamiya 37mm PAK
DML 75mm PAK
Academy M3A1
DML Panther II

and started the DML Panther D!

Duke! What a production you have!

For me 2003 was actually pretty good. 36 models, of which 8 were built for my own. 13 patterns and 15 display models complete the round up for 2003.

This is actually quite a low number comparing to the earlier years (1998-2002) when I averaged the 50 mark, with about 80% of patterns, 18% of display items and only the odd 2% (i.e. a single item) of my own...

This is due to you guys, and I want to thank you again. It's your enthusiasm and seeing your models that made me take this step 'forward'.

2004 will be even better. You've been warned!

I didn't get much done this year. Modern communication technology translates into one never really leaving work. (Work as in job). I did finish up a couple though:

Academy M551 Sheridan with AEF turret
Dragon M4A4
Monogram's ancient Stug IV
Lindberg T-55

Been working on a NASCAR Monte Carlo for my Daughter in law, but it's slow going.

Great start to a thread to end the year Anthony.

For me I completed:
- Dragon's M4A1 with Verlinden's T1E3 Mineroller ( in progress pre 2003)
- Tamiya's M4 with Verlinden's M1 Dozer (in progress pre 2003)
- kitbashed 2 Italeri kits to make an M32 B3 (in progress pre 2003)
- Italeri's M4A3 (76) W
- kitbashed Dragon's M4A3 E8 into an M4A2 E8
- Tamiya's M4A3 E2 Jumbo ala William Tecumseh Sherman
- Tamiya's M3 Lee ala Robert E. Lee
- S-Models Staghound Mk.I
- Tamiya's Dragon Wagon
- Italeri's M36 B1

Also started a conversion of Tank Workshops M4A1 early production using Tamiya's M4 as the base kit.

Wow .... 10 in a year .... not bad for the speed I work at.
Happy Modelling and God Bless Robert

How's your 2003 report
Posted by Anthony on Wednesday, December 31, 2003 5:51 PM
First, I'd like to say Happy New Year to all. To my colleagues in Easten Hemisphere, this may be late but Happy New Year anyway, BTW, how's the firwork and champagne there?

Just want to ask you folks how was your 2003 model building experience. Well, mine is ok. I finished the 1/35 of Tamiya Challenger, DML T-34/85, DML M-4 Sherman(105mm gun and flame thrower) and 1/72 Revell Germany T-34/85 and Italeri King Tiger. Not many, since I've been busy and also spent some time in aircraft. Great thing is that I finally overcame my fear on individual track. It's not that difficult as it looks, all you need is patient.

Hope your next year modeling experience will be even more enjoyable.
