And... Santa Brought??
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, January 5, 2004 1:46 PM
Sorry all, I've been gone since the 23rd here and I took a look at all the old posts (I think)Confused [%-)].. I didn't see anybody other than Beave mention what 'Santa' had left (if anything)! For myself, I received an Emhar 1/35 Medium A (Whippet) and an Italieri 1/35 M13/40. Niether of which I'd have bought on my own and am glad to have (I built the Whippet OOB and had a great deal of fun weathering it!).
Also, a friend gave me "How to Model German Armor", "How to Model Allied Armor" and "Building Dioramas" from Kalmbach. I can't tell you how much I enjoy Shep Paine's work! (Is that how you spell his name? ..probably not, knowing the way I spell!).
So, did anybody else get anything fun (models) over the holidays? Oh, my son got an old DML 1/35 scale M4A3E8 for the Sherman Build!

No kits, but I did get a bunch of 120mm figures, a new airbrush and some Vallejo Paints.

This has been the first year in a while where I didnt get any modeling supplies. The closest thing I got to anything remotely model-ish are the gift certificates to West Edmonton Mall (with 2 hobby shops) but they've already been claimedAngry [:(!]

Nothing armour related at X-mas, but one of the LHS had a 35% discount on Tamiya Japanese armour kits.

Picked myself the Type 90 with Mine-roller up, now if I could just convince Modelkasten to do a working track set for the kit.

Santa was very good. From Micro-Mark, I got a cutting matt (should have got one years ago), a paint stirrer, and hobby shears. In addition, I received an Art Bin II, Dragon's Panther A late, an Eduard Panther G barrel and Tamiya Panther tracks. Not bad.

I really made out. For kits, I got one of the new DML Firefly V's, a Tamiya P-47 Razorback, and the new Polar Lights Starship Enterprise. For tools, I got an Etch-mate, Flex-i-File set, and Touch -n Flow cement applicator. Then after Christmas, I bought for myself (much to my wife's chagrin) a DML 1/72 SturmTiger, Panther G - Early, and Jadgpanther. And, last but not least, a digital camera. So, if I can locate the posts on how to do it, you might all have to start putting up with some pics of my poor examples of models!!

Wow!! [wow] You have been a good boy , Bill.

Ron - didn't know Santa had an E-bay account to get that M4A3E8?

Me, I just got a couple more kits I probably never get to.

Bill, Hit the jackpot there!
Build 22, in this case, ebay was my store of kits in the basement. If I ever make them all, I'll never want for anything to do until I'm 90... but what can you do when you like a kit and know it'll be OOP in a few months?

Just stumbled across this thread, and I collected a pair of AH-1's in 1/35 from my dear son, as well as a 1/48 CH-53 and V-22 from my father. All in all, a good addition to my addiction! Only need about 10 years of uninterupted work time to complete all the kits I've collected.
