Something is up with Dragon's 1/72 kit tracks

Ok, i'm working on the problem, if i find a solution i'll post. THese tracks are highly detailed and look great. Except they are rejecting paint. After a week the paint is still tacky. I washed them in dishwashing liquid and scrubbed them with a old tooth brush. I used modelmasters enamel straight formthe bottle. I also tried Floquil strait formthe bottle also, still tacky, but not as bad. Still it leaves track marks on your fingers. I'll try aserious degreaser like simple green, and also try priming the tracks with a gray primer. Anyone else run into this problem? Bill

Sounds like they are vinyl, which won't take enamel paint, no matter how clean they are. You need to use an acrylic, water-based paint (or primer) on them.

I also have the same problem. There also isn't any positive connection points on the tracks. You will have to super glue them together. And one more thing, the tracks are extremely loose once mounted on the tank. This kit would have benefitted greatly with some link and length tracks.

I had to use invisible thread to tie the track down to the tops of the road wheels. The tracks are still loose around the drive sprockets.
