The New DML T34 Model 1941
Posted by MonsterZero on Thursday, January 8, 2004 8:31 PM
The Internethobbies.com numbnuts continue to advertise this kit under a "coming soon" heading. I sent them an email asking if it's available yet and got no reply at all. They forgot about my inquiry. I bet they never forgot to charge my credit card.
Angry [:(!]

Does anybody know if this kit is available and where it can be ordered? It's been comming soon for half a year.

GreatModels at www.greatmodels.com has it in-stock for $24.80. That price does not include shipping costs.

By the time you pay the shipping, it will cost about as much as in stock at your LHS.
I think you meant 1940 model, by the way.

I don't have one yet but, I have heard nothing but great things about this kit.

It was even mentioned that it rivals Tamiyas version.

The Hobbytown in Indy has a couple of the kits and they are very nice. Much better than the old Tamiya kit. DML did a fantastic job with this tank. Thumbs Up [tup]

The Tamiya versions are crap! Distorted hull shape to accomodate the motor and gear box. Kinda sucked that they still release new versions of it and the KV without redoing the hull.

If you are talking about the Model 1940, then yes, it's a very nice kit. I sure hope they also release a model 1941 and model 1942.

Guys, don't buy online from GreatModels until those people set up a secure website where your personal information including credit cards cannot be stolen by some 6 year old from Indonesia.

Call GreatModels and give them your credit card info over the phone but don't use their amateurish website.

The number of freaks and thieves on the Internet is increasing exponentially (as the 3rd World mob gets connected).

I've pretty much finished putting together the kit. It's such a nice model. Now i'm just waiting to paint it, but I got 3 other tanks getting in the way of assembly. Then there's the Fruilmodel tracks for the T34 Model 1940 which I bought almost a year before getting the kit to put together. It's probably going to take another 2 months before it's finished. I wonder if the bow machine gun will last that long without me breaking it.

My friend who runs an online hobby shop had them last month at our AMPS meeting. It looks nice, and while there is nothing wrong with my old Zvezda T-34/76 model 1942, the kit made me want a DML model 1940.

I agree that the Tamiya ones are inaccurate, have so-so vinyl tracks and plenty of motorization holes in the hull. The DML kit is vastly superior and probably cheaper.

This is my friend's site: http://home.comcast.net/~alpenflage-hobbies/alpenflage.htm . While he does the majority of his business through eBay, he does a fair amount of business from this site. He takes PayPal or you can mail him payment.
