AS 90 SP Howitzer by Trumpeter
Posted by bilbirk on Saturday, January 10, 2004 8:12 AM
I recently bought this kit and have some major questions about it. Some of the directions are pretty vague and i was wondering if somebody could help. Step (2) Lower hull assy shows the locations of some of the parts A22 & A23 but what are the ones already showed mounted on the chassis? Is the right A22 and the left A 23 or are the ones already shown mounted A22 & A 23. The kit really shows a lot of potential and i like all kinds of artillery. I need all the help I can get from you people. Thanks

I'll try to help you.

I have the Hobby Craft AS90 (It's the Trumpeter kit under the HC label) To be fair, I have not built it yet, but I am looking at the instruction step which you have mentioned.

It is showing you some of the parts already in position.

If you were sitting in the driver's seat, parts A22 go on the left side and parts A23 go on the right side.

You do need to put all of parts A22 and A23 on at this time in the construction sequence. That should be six each of the A22 and A23 parts.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick response! I kinda thought that but it doesn't hurt to ask for another opinion

I did it, it's a nice kit, the tools are a little thick for the scale, and I had a couple of problems fitting the "basket at the top of the turret, other than that it went pretty well

You also need to beware of the instructions to that kit.Look at section 17,the base of the gun barrel section and then at section 19.In 17 they have 2 parts going on the opposite way to what they should but in 19 they show it the correct way.If i can find my instructions tomorrow I will elaborate further.
