There are a bunch on eBay, for pretty serious bucks...they look fantastic, anyone ever build one?

I think, and I'm sure someone will correct me, that Dragon reboxes GS kits in the States. For instance the re-issue Stug and the PZ-IV line are from GS as is the PZIIIM/N AFAIK. I enjoy the kits, the large number of extra sprues and the indy link tracks, but the detail seems very similar to Tamiya, and seems to vary. I hope someone will correct me if I am wrong.

Well the ones I was looking at had PE parts, brass parts, super detail parts and lots and lots of plastic bits.

Oh and a price tag of 150$

Gunze Sanyo tanks started as plastic kits with white metal, resin and PE parts tossed in to make an unavailable kit. Like the Marine Corps M60A1 with applique armor prior to Tamiya's release. They also did some really nice German armor that DML reboxed along with plastic parts instead of the metal parts.

Whew!!

I'd let the kit collectors have them.

You can get the DML Panther G, An Aber PE set, and a JR barrel, and keep at least $50-$75 in your pocket and have the same thing.

Just my 2 Cents.

Yup, not worth the extra money.

I had asked the same question here about 2 weeks ago. I had a chance to pick up the High-Tech Panther but, I decided against it.

Like stated above, it's more for the collector now. I feel much better making the other purchases for the Panthers I do have. I bought a resin engine compartment, 3 P.E. sets and 3 barrels. I also saved about $25.00
